        2020-2023 Manco Review: Nedgroup Investments

By Staff Writer   Q2 Of 2024 | 9 months ago

In our ongoing past review of unit trusts fund managers activities, today we are at doorstep of Nedgroup Investments, which its pride itself for delivering exceptional returns with their unique angle of selecting outside asset managers to manage their unit trust funds as a whole , for example the Nedgroup Investment Rainmaker Fund is fully and wholly managed by asset manager Abax Investments instead of inhouse individual fund managers.
In the period in review , Nedgroup Investments expanded with only about 4 unit trusts funds , 2 in the Core Range and also 2 in the Select Range.

In the Core Range , they introduced Nedgroup Investment Core SA SA Equity Fund and Nedgroup Investments Core World Index Feeder Fund. In the Select Range they plug a hole by ntroducing Nedgroup Investments Select Balanced Fund of Funds and Nedgroup Investment Select Defensive Fund of Funds.
We need to do a deeper investigation of what is happening at ASISA- EQUITY - FINANCIAL sector as to why it keeps bleeding the funds were listed in this subsector . We bring this because from our records we see the Nedgroup Investments Financial Fund either almagamated or liquidated , this follows a trend we pick up on other Mancos where unit trusts funds listed here keeps vanishing. We will keep digging.
Other occorances we we pick up is the propability that Nedgroup Investments Growth Fund was merged into the all round general equity nedgroup Investments Rainmaker Fund.

The education oriented initiative called Fundisa Fund also saw its demise in this period in review, the initiative did not gain traction as it was envisioned. In the global front, there is a high likelyhood that the disappeared nedgroup Investment Global Diversified Equity Feeder Fund might have been renamed to Nedgroup investment Global Behavioural Feeder Fund , in our records, the latter fund only appear around year 2022 yet it stated it was launced back in 2019.
