It is all too easy for individuals working in the investment industry, like myself, to overlook the fact that even though our clients might very well be highly skilled in fields outside of ours, we conveniently assume they understand what we mean when we refer to concepts like “risk adjusted returns” or even just “risk vs returns”, and how that links to the unit trust universe. We are often caught up in jargon and should from time to time ask ourselves whether we are part of the problem or part of the solution.
